INTRODUCTION
Learn the basics of metal AM and discover the range of used materials and applications of this manufacturing technique.
DESCRIPTION
This course gives an introduction to Additive Manufacturing technology (AM) with a focus on AM of metals. The learners will discover the workflow of AM process, the advantages and disadvantages of AM, the different materials that are being used in metal AM and also the different applications of metal AM within sectors ranging from aerospace, automotive, biomedical and other industries. The learners will be demonstrated that nowadays metal AM is not only used for prototyping but it can be employed as well for manufacturing of safety critical parts in high demanding applications.
WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
This course is for anyone who wants to learn about the basics of metal additive manufacturing. More specifically, this course is useful for people from industry, going from engineers to managers from companies producing raw materials and equipment for metal AM, the AM companies themselves (new recruits) or from sectors where the use of AM parts is being introduced (medical, aerospace, automotive, …).
